This design concept searches for the most basic values of living and housing via understanding and reinterpreting local vernacular architecture from an environment-conscious viewpoint. The town of Kisszékely has its own special character and community - our design aims to respect and follow all of these local aspects. The traditional porch, an architectural gesture of inviting and connecting the house to the street, is reinterpreted as a cantilever roof. This roof, like its ancestor, continues on the long side of the building, creating shaded passages and terraces connected to the living areas of the family house.
